Task
Imagine...
You are a peasant in Medieval Europe. Life as a peasant is very difficult and each day is a struggle. However, today is your lucky day! You are being given a chance that hardly any peasants actually received: a chance to move up to a higher social class! If you can complete the quest, you will even be able to become a King or Queen!
The Process:
These are the 6 social levels you will need to pass through. Each time you move up a social level, your project grade will be increased by one letter grade.
1) Peasant (F)
2) Merchant (D)
3) Squire (Low C)
3) Noble: Knight or lady (High C)
4) Clergy: Monk or Nun (B)
5) Royalty: King or Queen (A)
You will start as a peasant and work your way up!
This is a quest that only an individual scholar can complete, so there should be no talking during work time without permission! Don't lose track of your mission!
Quest Procedures:
1. Click on the Social Class on the top of the page to learn your assignment. YOU MUST GO IN THE ORDER ABOVE.
2. When you have completed ALL the assignments from ONE social class, notify the High Queen (the teacher) by flipping over your cup. The High Queen will check your work and give you a stamp to show that you can move on to the next social class. For example, when you have completed both assignments given under the "Peasant" tab, you should flip your cup and wait for the teacher to award you a stamp. NOTE: While you are waiting for the teacher to give you a stamp, you must continue to the next Social Class and begin the assignment.
3. You should also flip your cup if you have a question about your work. While you are waiting for the High Queen to come, you should move on to an assignment you can do without help. Always keep moving along your quest!
4. The High Queen will check your answers or project. She may ask you to revise or change certain elements so that it is perfect. You will not receive a stamp for moving up a social class until your work meets a high standard of excellence. Try to do it correctly the first time, but do not get discouraged if you are asked to revise. Quests often take patience as well as courage!
Deadline:
The quest will be concluded after 10 class days. You will be awarded a grade based on the social class level that you have achieved by the end of the 10th day. The last day to work on your quest is: Wednesday, March 7, 2012.
Tips:
You may work on this at home or at the library to get ahead and ensure that you have time to become a King or Queen.
