Serf or Peasant
Woe is you! Life as a peasant is tough!
Peasants, also known as serfs or commoners, were the lowest social class in Medieval Europe. They did not own any land and so they were forced to work on someone else's land (known as a lord). Serfs were given the right to live on a lord's land in exchange for their labor. Most serfs were farmers, though some would have worked inside the manor house as servants.
Your chores as a peasant:
1) View the Power Point below to complete your "Medieval Period" Notes. Make sure to read carefully and examine the pictures and cartoons as you go through. Don't just copy - read! If you JUST copy you're going to struggle when it comes to the Unit Exam!
2) At the end of each section, play the Quia review game until you score perfect.
3) After successfully playing the Quia game for a section, answer the questions on your "Comprehension Questions" page in full complete sentences.
4) Repeat chores 1-3 until you have taken all your notes, played all 6 Quia games, and answered all "Comprehension Questions."
5) Complete "Medieval Europe Crossword Puzzle" on the back of the Comprehension Questions Packet.
When you are done:
1) Flip Your Cup so the High Queen can come over and give you a stamp.
2) Move on to the Merchant assignment!
